Phone conversation with Mom this morning -
- Mom: Would you like to go to breakfast?
- Me: Ummm. Migas. Yummy. Yes.
- Mom: Are you ready to go or do you need to take a shower and get ready?
- Me: I just need to decide what shirt to wear.... {as I stand in front of the closet staring blankly}
- long pause...
- that continues...
- indicating clear confusion...
- that is picked up by maternal sensors...
- Mom: Well, you could always wear your owl shirt.
And I did. That's right, people. My mother picked out my shirt for me this morning because I was too befuddled to do it myself. Sad, huh? It's a cute shirt, though. See?
And I've been knitting, too. On Spring Shawl. Bunches. In fact, I've only been knitting Spring Shawl. No flitting from project to project here. All Spring Shawl, all the time!
I told Nancy that I would post pictures for her a super duper long time ago but the weekend I planned to do it, I got significantly sick. While I was only sick for a few days, I was so distracted from the plan that I never able to refocus on my mission of acquiring pictures. Now, I'm almost finished with the border and it doesn't seem right to post pictures until the border is finished. Only 25 more rows to go! Of the border. Then there's the entire edging to knit. That's going to take a long time. An ungodly long time. But it will be worth it. So. totally. worth. it.
In other news, I got to see the the Yarn Harlot last weekend. She was fabulous. I may write another post soon (soon = later this week) about that.
Though, as I was typing that last bit about soon, I realized that the National Poetry Slam is starting Tuesday evening and I'll be going to lots and lots of that and may not have an opportunity for blogging. I might blog about the NPS. We'll see. You never know what you'll get here.
Or if you'll get anything. Do you?
Gotta keep you guessing!

That sure is a cute shirt! Glad to see you're alive. I'm sure the Spring Shawl will be worth the wait. Can't wait to see it!

I think it's funny that I could even remember what shirts you have to pick one out for you to wear. The migas were good and so was the company. Cute picture of you, but where are the pictures of the shawl? Luv, Mom

As a mother, I completely understand how your (wonderful) mom could pick out your shirt without being there. That's the thing about mom's - for better or even better, they don't need to be there.
I am so sorry you were sick, so delighted you're back on your feet and so thrilled that you're knitting madly at your current masterpiece. Mostly, though, I am so very eager to see the results.
Knit on! with grace and joy and in your own time.

I *love* that mom picked out your clothes for you.
Have you lost weight, like The Other Jody said? I can't -- really -- tell from the picture.
Well, we'll wait for you again!

Love the new haircut! You're looking quite the fox these days if it's not too odd for me to say... Can't wait to see Spring Shawl in person one of these days.
