Dear Self,
I would really like you to remember that when you don't go to sleep until after 11, your first caffeinated beverage of the day must be consumed while sitting down. Twice this week (both after less sleep than normal), your pants were decorated with significant quantities of coffee goodness. Please enjoy your beverages responsibly in the future, while sitting down. This kind of public clumsiness won't be tolerated by your pants or by me.
And while we are on the subject of things that need to change, and you don't need to tell me how cute he is, I have the pictures that prove it...
but how many bamboo needles will be sacrificed to this evil beast's maw...
Bamboo needles are good and wonderful and I know you like them as much as I do, but they become very un-useful for knitting when the point has been vandalized by kitten teeth no matter how cute the offending kitten is (and perhaps you can't really see the damage in that picture, but trust me, it's there). It's clear he has a problem controlling his dark, scary bamboo urges and it's up to you to prevent such relapses. Just move the knitting to higher ground so the needles can have a long prosperous life.
But on a perkier note, good progress on Madli,
20 repeats complete and one ball of Zephyr yumminess almost gone.
I really appreciate you prompt attention to these matters.
Thank you,
Self
Addi Turbos are the best answer. My cats aren't interested in them. Bamboo is irresistable, though.

just wanted to say hi and thank you for your help at HCW today. After reading your blog, I think the pewter looks good too. I'm going to try the pattern with the 4s and the amount of zephyr I have left. Then I'll decide.

Oh, your poor pants & needles.
Do you think you'll be able to get through to yourself? I know mine never listens...

I'm assuming you've tried spraying the kitty with a sharp spray of water when it touches your needles? That always worked to train our cats out of things.
Your Madli is looking great! You're way farther along than I am.

Jody, Love your Mushroom Madli! How do you think the size of Madli will be in the Zephyr? I think the original yarn was kind of between a lace and fingering and knit on 6's. I just bought some CTH laceweight cashmere for half off at my LYS but it's only 960 yards total, so it may not be enough yardage anyway. I wonder if a fingering yarn would be too heavy? Anyway, yours if lovely.

What is it with cats and needles? What's even worse? My DH loves using my circular needles as a cat toy. He dangles them and has the cat chase it around, and then whenever I knit with them she looks all sad like it's *her* toy! I use metal though, so she hasn't done much damage.
And I'll ignore the cuteness of the cat and go right for Madli. It's looking good!
